Hi, I'm Kristi

A South African born and bred wedding photographer.

I am married to my best friend, Craig, and we’re parents to two fur kids- Cody and Hunter (if you follow me on social media you will often see these two getting featured).

We are head-over heals in love with our saviour, Jesus, and do our best to serve Him with all our hearts.

I have been taking photographs professionally since finishing varsity in 2011 and making a bold decision to start my own business, then known as Kristi Bailey Photography.

I mostly call myself a wedding photographer, but I cover a variety of areas, including couples, families, maternity, babies and portraits.  Have a look for yourself.

I love to capturing the 'in-between moments', constantly steering away from the overly structured shots. Being a photographer is such a privilege and I am blown away at how my career allows me to meet such amazing people as well as travel to new places.

10 facts about me:

  • Craig and I are also owners of two coffee shops, Ground Coffee House (Hilton) and Prodigy (Umhlanga).
  • We dream of taking the gospel into Africa, maybe opening an orphanage, starting a coffee farm and schools.
  • I am an INFJ and Craig is an INTJ, do the Myers Briggs Test, it's so much fun.
  • I love interior design and creating beautiful spaces.
  • I hate mess. Mess makes me crazy. Ask my husband.
  • My dogs are literally my children, my neighbours probably think I’m insane.
  • I love reality TV and series that include crime.
  • I used to play the violin as a kid.
  • Mutual friends played matchmakers with Craig and I. The rest is history.
  • I love plants, but my gardening skills are nonexistent.

Qualifications

  • Higher Certificate in Photography (2010)
  • Advanced Certificate in Professional Photography (2011)

Awards

  • Won the 'Going Green' competition in 2010
  • Second in Canon South Africa's competition in January 2011
  • Finalist in Festival de Cine Africanode Tarifia, PhotoAfrica in 2011
